COURSE:  WMGT 484 Reserve Forces Air Base Combat Engineering Course

DESCRIPTION:  Initial skills education courses offered at the Air Force Institute of Technology for civil engineer officers are under review and will be changing. Beginning in FY14, all CE officers will attend a single, approximately seven-week initial skills course designed for the Total Force. In FY13, the interim year, ANG and AFRC officers entering the CE career field must register for WMSS 101, a four-week course that combines ANG/AFRC officers with RegAF students. The interim course will establish a baseline for expeditionary capabilities across the Total Force and will fulfill requirements for ANG/AFRC CE officers to wear the CE badge.

The last week of the four-week course will be Officer Field Education (OFE) at the Tyndall AFB Silver Flag Site and will require each student to bring special uniform items and equipment such as a C-Bag (Chem Warfare Training Equipment), sleeping bag, helmet, canteen, gloves, and other field necessities. The full list of required items will be sent upon admission to the course. For more information about the course and to apply click the “WMSS 101 Air Force Civil Engineer Basic Course for ANG/Reserve Forces” course link and use the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of the WMSS 101 page to submit any further questions you may have.

Note: Students who have previously completed either WMGT 102 or WMGT 484 but not both must contact the school directly for registration requirements using the “Contact Us” button.
