Application Procedure

Have you ever thought about teaching in the Civil Engineer School?

Information on applying for a position is listed below. Phase I:  Contact the Civil Engineer School Chairman of Faculty Recruitment to notify school of interest in a faculty position.

 

Applicant Eligibility is as Follows:

a.       At least 12 months time on station

b.      At least 2 years base level experience

c.       Letter of Academic Eligibility (apply to AFIT Registrar NLT 31 May 2013

 

Application Includes:

a.       3849 signed by first O-6 in chain of command (ensure 3849 includes the position you are applying for)

b.       Official GRE Scores

c.       Undergrad Transcript

d.      1 .PDF including

a.       1 pg MFR Cover Letter

b.      Maximum 3 Letters of Recommendation (1 from commander)

 

Applications must be sent to the AFPC CE Assignments Team through the first O-6 in your chain of Command.  Application must also be routed through your DT Representative.  In addition to your application ensure your ADP is updated to show your desire to become an instructor at The Civil Engineer School

Phase II: Committee Review
The faculty recruitment committee reviews completed applications to identify qualified applicants.

Phase III: Presentation and Interview
Ideally, candidates will be brought TDY to The Civil Engineer School for a face-to-face interview with the Faculty Recruitment Committee. The interview will include a five- to ten-minute presentation by the candidate and a question and answer period. If candidates are unable to visit the school, an alternative method will be scheduled (teleconference, VTC, etc.).
