For the betterment of the organizations in which they function, our operations research programs educate students in the theory and practice of operations research, with emphasis on the application of quantitative analysis techniques to defense decision-making by study of such topics as mathematical modeling, simulation, statistical analysis, and optimization. Understanding of these principals aims to provide a rational basis for better decision-making by seeking to understand and structure complex situations and to use this understanding to predict system behavior and improve system performance.
