Program Description

The Graduate Aeronautical Engineering (GAE) program is a fully accredited program at AFIT leading to a Master of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering. The GAE program is designed for students from all branches of the U.S. military services as well as students from allied foreign military services, civilians and part time students. Most students (Air Force and Navy quota as well as Air Force Test Pilot School (AFTPS) enter as a class in September, fall quarter. Other students enter in quarters as shown in the table below. The Master's degree program in Aeronautical Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://www.abet.org).

Educational Objectives

  • Our graduates will be prepared to make direct contributions as a practicing engineer in the area of aeronautical engineering.
  • Our graduates will have the technical expertise to communicate, evaluate, monitor and administer aeronautical research and development programs.
  • Our graduates will understand how to approach and solve new technological challenges to meet the needs of the Air Force and other DoD organizations.
