AFIT Prof wins IEEE Outstanding Teacher Award

Dr. Barry E. Mullins, Associate Professor of Computer Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Air Force Institute of Technology is the recipient of the 2010 C. Holmes MacDonald Outstanding Electrical and Computer Engineering Teacher Award.
AFIT faculty member receives grant from AFOSR

The AFOSR solicitation in major areas of interest to the Air Force resulted in 210 proposals, leading to only 39 awards. Congratulations go to Maj. Jason Schmidt, an assistant professor of electro-optics in AFIT/ENG, for being the only military member to receive the award.
Two AFIT professors receive AF science awards

At a reception held 3 September 2008 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force, Dr. Richard Raines and Dr. Gilbert Peterson accepted their respective awards.

AFIT’s current research thrust in support of the TecEdge mission is primarily in small target tracking. Specifically, four MS students are working in the areas of context-aided tracking, change detection, feature-aided tracking, hyperspectral-augmented tracking, and track prediction. Combined, these projects address the asymmetrical threats in urban environments through the exploitation of persistent surveillance systems.
