Eligibility

- If you're qualified for, or hold, an appointment as a commissioned officer in one of the health professions and
- Sign a written agreement to serve on active duty for a time period, as prescribed herein; and
- Be fully qualified in a health profession that the Secretary of the military department concerned has determined to be necessary to meet identified skill shortages.
- Not a former AFHPSP/FAP participant who has received the maximum sponsorship for the health care degree.
- If you complete, sign, and submit all required application/enrollment documents by suspense dates (see Application Link for details) (ADHPLRP Service Agreement must be signed before 01 Aug 2010).
or
- Be enrolled as a full-time student in the final year of a course of study at an accredited educational institution leading to a degree in a health profession (other than medicine or osteopathic medicine); or
- Be enrolled in the final year of an approved graduate program leading to specialty qualification in medicine, dentistry, osteopathic medicine, or other health profession.
Ineligible
- Reserve HPLRP participants, students and graduates of Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS).
- Persons with prior active commissioned service who are seeking to obtain an original appointment as a new accession under the ADHPLRP must have been separated from their prior active commissioned service for at least 24 months. This applies only to prior active service in the same Corps designation as the health care discipline being applied for under the ADHPLRP. It does not apply to officers in a Reserve Component serving on active duty for a period of less than one year.
- Persons who have incurred or are not free of any court judgment liens against the person"s property arising from a debt owed to the United States. Those with judgment liens for federal debts are ineligible for loan repayment until the debt is paid in full or otherwise satisfied.
- Persons who are in default or delinquent on any federal debt. Examples of federal debt include direct or guaranteed student loans (such as health education assistance loans, health profession student loans, etc), or delinquent taxes, FHA or VA loans.
- Persons who do not meet eligibility requirements listed above.
- Persons who: are in a promotion non-select status; are pending punitive discharge; have received an Article 15, Non-judicial punishment with current and active control roster or unfavorable information file content for any reason; do not meet Air Force weight and physical fitness standards.
- Persons who are obligated to service with any agency or organization other than the Air Force, unless the obligated service will be satisfied prior to active duty entry.
- Persons who are in breach of any other health professional service obligation to a federal, state, or local government entity or who failed to complete any reserve or military service obligation.
- Persons who are current participants of Reserve incentive programs. Simultaneous participation in Reserve incentive programs and the ADHPLRP is not authorized.
- Persons who, within the last two years, had prior active commissioned service or served in an active status in a Reserve component, and if such service was in the same Corps designation as the health care discipline for which ADHPLRP is authorized.
- Persons who lose eligibility for the active or reserve service.
- Authorized persons in their final year of degree completion who have not passed Part I and Part II of national board or licensure examinations.
- Those who fail to successfully complete Commissioned Officer Training (COT).
- Those who do not successfully complete Nurse Transitional Program (NTP).
- Did receive educational benefits through ROTC for the level of degree for which I am applying. I understand the following exceptions that if (a) I received a stipend from ROTC that I am eligible to apply for ADHPLRP or (b) I am eligible to apply if I am a ROTC educational delay student that received no benefits from ROTC for the level of degree for which I am making an ADHPLRP application.
