Fellowship opportunities available in Cyber Operations/Security
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) provides scholarship opportunities
targeted to non-military students who are seeking a Masters Degree in
Cyber Operations. This is made possible through a grant
from the National
Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship for Service program
(Cybercorp).
This program allows students to obtain advanced graduate education in
return for federal service upon degree completion. Federal government
service time is equal to the amount of time of scholarship support. A
typical academic program length is 24 months.
Fellowship benefits Include:
Full tuition, stipend, computer and book allowance, housing/health
care allowances and conference travel opportunities.
Application instructions and detailed program requirements:
Students interested in the CyberCorp Cyber Operations Program must meet
ALL the below requirements before submitting an application.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree or be near completion, with a strong background in computer science, computer engineering, or math
- Be proficient in software programming and code development
- Must have knowledge and application of data structures, computer architecture and operating systems
- Be able to attend school full time throughout the 24 month program
- An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Graduate Record Exam scores of 600 quantitative, 500 verbal

Include:
- $13,000 housing and health care allowance
- Full tuition coverage
- $12,000 a year stipend
- Use of a laptop
- Books and course related supplies
- Available to 5 students per year
- Travel stipend for professional conferences
Obligations to the Federal Government:
Complete:
- the Masters program successfully
- 24 months of work commitment for a federal, state, or local government agency
