COURSE:  WENG 440 Roofing Design and Management Course

OBJECTIVE:  Students will comprehend management and design of low-sloped and pitched roofing techniques.

DESCRIPTION:  This course increases the knowledge and capabilities of Air Force Civil Engineer personnel responsible for the installation's Roof Management Program. Emphasis is on understanding roofing systems and managing a roofing program. Topics include an overview of roofing systems, roof asset management, warranties, roof maintenance and sustainable design.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Roofing Engineers

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Design architect/engineer/manager, Construction engineer/manager, Maintenance engineer/technician, Roof technician

GRADE:   Officers: Yes (O1-O3); Enlisted: Yes (E4-E8); Civilians: Yes (GS7-13, WS9-14, WL7-11, and WG7-11)

PREREQUISITES:  No restrictions, but students must be able to complete upper level graduate course work.

COURSE CREDIT:  3 CEUs in compliance with IACET standards

COURSE LENGTH:  5 days
