COURSE: WENV 175 Environmental Management in Deployed Locations Course
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this course is to prepare civil engineers by providing tools and resources for performing environmental duties in deployed locations. DESCRIPTION: This course provides an overview of pertinent overseas environmental guidance, baseline surveys/closure reports, plans, hazardous materials, hazardous waste, water/wastewater, Petroleum Oil and Lubricants (POL) management, and resources available for deployed environmental managers. The focus will be on training students to apply the appropriate environmental guidance as necessary in a variety of operating environments ranging from austere to robust deployed locations. The course will also include instruction on how to apply AFH 10-222 Vol. 4 Environmental Guide for Contingency Operations 2006 and the Overseas Environmental Baseline Guidance Document when dealing with a variety of environmental tasks. This course fulfills the Air Force Instruction 10-210 Civil Engineer Officer/Alternate minimum training requirement for 4FPEA, 4FPEB, and 4FPEP UTCs.
