Who Can Attend
EEC Policies

EEC will only fund courses where a significant amount of the course content is environmental related. Environmental related refers to protection and restoration of the environment, reduction of pollutants, management of hazardous waste and materials, regulatory requirements covered by 40 CFR, and reduction of risk to the environment. Indoor environmental , occupational, and other health related issues will not be funded.

- EEC will fund for a rental car only if the student can demonstrate that doing so is cheaper than public transportation alternatives.

- Funding is generally on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to those that have not used EEC in the current fiscal year.

- EEC will not support a course by a commercial provider if the same course is reasonably available from AFIT or another DoD provider.

- EEC will not support individuals that fail to provide the EEC a copy of travel orders, the processed voucher or the course critique.

- We cannot reimburse for books and other course materials if such materials are not included in the basic registration cost (i.e., text books for a college course). We cannot pay for examination or certification fees unless they are integrated into the course.

- We cannot support attending conferences and seminars that are not continuing education courses. Continuing education courses are often offered in conjunction with many conferences, which we will support. For example, attending the Air & Waste Management Conference would not be eligible; however, if an Air Modeling course is taught at the conference, we will support attending the modeling course.

- EEC support is for environmental managers. To obtain EEC support, the student does not necessarily have to be a member of an environmental management organization, but he or she must have environmental management, supervisory or oversight responsibilities.

- EEC will not fund training for a single course that is in excess of 80 hours.

- EEC does not fund either undergraduate or graduate degree programs.

- EEC does not support the Register Environmental Manager course or other similar courses where the objective is to attain some professional certification.
