For Courses Requiring TDY
When EEC receives and approves a request for a course that involves TDY. EEC will send a preliminary approval memo as soon as the course is reviewed and approved. This memo will request that the student return a signed Form 1556, Section E, Item 39 (if not already provided), and provide course vendor information. EEC will then register the student for the class and pay the course fees. Approximately 30 days before the beginning of the course EEC will send another memo that will contain the fund cite to be used on your travel orders. When travel orders are published, a copy of the orders must be faxed to EEC. After the student has attended the course, the student faxes a copy of the processed travel voucher and a course critique to the EEC. If the student fails to attend the course or send proof of attendance, EEC will initiate action to recover the registration cost from the student.

For Courses Not Requiring TDY
On approval of a local course, the EEC will notify the student to provide the EEC with the name, address and phone number of the course vendor. The student will also be asked to provide a signed Form 1556, Section E, Item 39. Upon receipt of these items, EEC will register the student for the course and pay for the course with an IMPAC account. After attending the course, the student will fax a copy of the completion certificate to the EEC. If the student fails to attend the course or send proof of attendance, EEC will initiate action to recover the registration cost from the student.
