Dean's Welcome

Welcome to the Civil Engineer and Services School.

We have been providing critical professional continuing education to Air Force Civil Engineer, Services and Environmental professionals since 1947, the year the US Air Force became a separate service.

Our curriculum prepares civil engineer, services, and environmental professionals to meet increasing responsibilities throughout their careers, beginning with initial skills education for new officers.  At mid-career, students may choose from a variety of courses that provide knowledge and skills to support their current duties and next assignments.  And for individuals selected for command positions, we offer courses to prepare them for that responsibility.

We keep our curriculum responsive by listening closely to our customers.   Recent examples include a request from the Civil Engineer career field to provide all civil engineers with basic design skills.  In response, we developed a Simplified Facility Design course to fill this need.  In the Services arena, we now offer a protocol course which is providing just-in-time education for those personnel who will fill protocol positions at home station or while deployed for an AEF.  In the Environmental area, we have a new satellite course, Environmental Management in Deployed Locations, which is required for SORTs reporting by the latest revision of AFI 10-210 published in July 2006.

I invite you to browse through our course descriptions.  Each description states the course’s intended audience.  If you find a course that applies to you and want to apply, a button beneath each description opens a convenient and secure on-line application form.  Questions?  Send them to us at cess@afit.edu.

We look forward to meeting your continuing education needs and having you as one of our students.
