Each year, the resident schools at AFIT, USAFA, and AU (AWC, ACSC, SAASS, JPMCS, AIS), nominate active duty officers for advanced degree programs (PhD and MS) in order to fill future vacancies in their officer faculty. Each of the resident schools has their own nomination process. Officers interested in pursuing a faculty pipeline quota at one of the resident schools should contact that school directly for guidance. Each of the schools will nominate their faculty candidates and submit to AETC and AFPC for coordination and approval. Once an officer is officially selected/loaded by AFPC for a faculty pipeline quota, AFIT/ENEL will receive notification and then begin working with the officer on school placement. Faculty candidates are advised to contact AFIT/ENEL prior to applying to any university.
