Scholarships
There are numerous scholarship opportunities available to civilian students interested in enrolling at AFIT for graduate degree studies. Students are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria, which varies with individual scholarships. Application to these scholarships is the responsibility of the student. Note that regardless of individual scholarship guidelines, enrollment of civilian students at AFIT is open to US citizens only.

AFIT Scholarships

  • DAGSI (Dayton Area Graduate Studies Institute)

Open to graduate degree-seeking students at one of the DAGSI partner schools. Applications are due in March each year.

  • SMART (Science, Mathematics And Research Transformation)

Established by the Department of Defense to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines. Applications are due around December of each year.

Available to Master’s and Doctoral students pursuing degrees in one of the STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) at OSGC universities. Applications are due by February 1 of each year.

CTISR Scholarships

  • PRISP (Pat Roberts Intelligence Scholarship Program)

Specific requirements for this program vary according to the needs of individual intelligence community agencies. Prospective PRISP applicants should consult the website of the various IC components for specifics on that component’s program. Application deadlines vary by specific agency.

The NGA Vector program is open to current NGA employees only.

  • NDSEG (National Defense Science & Engineering Graduate) Fellowship

Sponsored by the DoD for student pursuing doctoral degrees in, or closely related to, an area of DoD interest within specific science and technology disciplines. Applications are due approximately January of each year.
