Laser Environmental Effects Definition and Reference (LEEDR)

The Laser Environmental Effects Definition and Reference(LEEDR) was also developed by CDE. LEEDR is a freestanding Matlab executable product, derived from the HELEEOS engine that calculates the effects of the atmosphere and its constituent components on directed energy propagation between 0.4 µm and 8.6 m. LEEDR can be used in its stand alone form to query the ExPERT database to create profiles of meteorological data and effects for thousands of land/ocean sites worldwide. Vertical data profiles and cloud free line of sight (CFLOS) can be produced from probabilistic climatology, historical reanalysis grids, or real-time forecast models to generate atmospheric inputs for a variety of modeling and simulation products.
