Our department is focused on basic science and applied technologies for the Department of Defense. We offer courses, degrees, and research in applied physical sciences and nuclear engineering. Our graduate programs emphasize practical research and its transition into operations within the USAF, DoD and other government agencies.
We are currently seeking talented military and civilian students to join the department. As you browse our website and become acquainted with our degree
programs, faculty and research, we hope that you will consider visiting us. There are fully funded
research assistantships for non-military affiliated
US citizens to study at AFIT.
Post Doctoral Research Assistantships for highly qualified individual's desiring to support DoD STEM are also
available. To explore these opportunities, please send unofficial copies of your transcripts, GRE scores, and summary of your research interests to
Dr. Nancy Giles.
