ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION IS OPEN

The organizing committee encourages the submission of papers from all areas of physics as well as submissions from our American Chemical Society and the AAPT colleagues. When you submit an abstract you will have the opportunity to choose either a 10-minute oral presentation or a poster presentation. The contributed paper sessions are scheduled for Saturday morning and the poster session will occur on Friday afternoon.

Abstract submission opens 3 July 2008. Meeting attendees who submit abstracts must do so via the APS abstract submission website (link: http://www.aps.org/meetings/abstract/index.cfm where you will find specific instructions. You may submit abstracts through this site until the submission deadline on Friday, 5 September 2008.  Indicate oral or poster session on the abstract form.

Note: Abstracts for APS meetings must be submitted or sponsored by APS members. Therefore, ACS and AAPT participants who are not members of APS and wish to present a paper or a poster can send their abstract as a MS Word attachment in an e-mail to David Weeks. Please use "OSAPS Abstract" in the subject line of your e-mail. We will submit the abstract for you. The abstracts must contain the title of the presentation, authors and their affiliations, and the body of the abstract. The abstract guidelines are published by the APS at http://www.aps.org/meetings/abstract/index.cfm.

All who submit abstracts will be notified by Friday, 3 October as to whether they have been listed as giving an oral or poster presentation - we will, however, do all we can to accommodate every person's original choice for the type of presentation. Submissions after the 5 September deadline will be considered on a space available basis only.  Late abstracts should also be submitted through the APS Abstract submission site (link: same as above).

All abstracts will be available on-line, and there is no additional charge for this service. Presenters can have their abstracts published in the Bulletin of the American Physical Society (BAPS) at a cost of $40 per abstract. The option is available on the meeting registration form.
