INTRODUCTION:
The Omega Rho International Honor Society for operations research, management science, and related areas was founded in the spring of 1976 at a joint national meeting of the Operations Research Society of America and The Institute of Management Sciences. The Society is a Member Society of the Association of College Honor Societies for maintaining high standards for the recognition and promotion of academic excellence in higher education. Omega Rho is a society of collegiate chapters and members for promoting and recognizing superior scholarship and leadership.
  
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Society is to encourage the study of operations research and management science related disciplines, to recognize and honor excellence in such studies, and to further professional interests.
  
BENEFITS:
Inductees into Omega Rho receive a handsome certificate, Omega Rho jewelry, and most importantly, recognition of excellence in the field of operations research. Membership dues include a one-time national fee of $20 and a one-time local fee of $5.

ELIGIBILITY:
Graduate students in good standing at AFIT with a declared major in operations research or a closely related discipline.The student must have at least a 3.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in all graduate courses, without failing any classes; must be academically ranked in the top one-third of the graduate class; and must have completed at least six months of the residency required for their degree (Masters or PhD).
