About the Department

Our department offers Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering that are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://www.abet.org). In addition, the department offers Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science, MS degrees in Cyber Operations and Cyber Warfare, and certificate programs in Information Assurance.

We combine outstanding student-to-faculty ratios, substantial research funding, and state-of-the-art laboratory facilities to maximize student mentorship, learning, and research productivity. Our students are officers and enlisted members of the United States Armed Forces and our allies, Department of Defense civilian employees, as well as civilians with a strong desire to make contributions to the defense and security of our nation.

The department’s 34 military and civilian faculty and our 200 graduate students conduct research that is focused on areas of Air Force and Department of Defense needs. We are active research partners with organizations including the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, the Air Force Research Laboratory, the National Science Foundation, and the National Security Agency. Our research funding exceeded three million dollars in fiscal year 2007 and resulted in the publication of 64 journal articles, 143 refereed conference publications and 71 other presentations/publications.
