Department of Operational Sciences Faculty News Operational Sciences Appoints New Department Head Professor Jeffery K. Cochran will join the Department of Operational Sciences as Department Head beginning July 2, 2007. Dr. Cochran comes to AFIT from the Department of Industrial Engineering at Arizona State University where he has served on the faculty (as Assistant, Associate and Full Professor) since 1984. Professor Cochran specializes in the optimization of complex systems involving uncertainty. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Cochran to the AFIT community! Kharoufeh receives INFORMS Outstanding Young Chapter Member Award Dr. Jeff Kharoufeh, Associate Professor of Operations Research, has been awarded the Outstanding Young Chapter Member Award by the Cincinnati/Dayton Chapter of INFORMS. The purpose of the award is to recognize outstanding contributions to the theory or practice of operations research by an active member of the Chapter who is under the age of 35. The award also serves to recognize promising researchers at or near the beginning of their academic or industrial careers. OR Faculty Selected to Serve on Editorial Boards
