Description:
Provides Air Force officers and civilians a deeper foundation in everyday project management skills. More advanced project management topics are addressed using a combination of in-class lectures and discussions, project management readings and case studies, and individual/group exercises. Topics include: business case analysis, stakeholder management, communications management, time management, project planning, project execution and status reporting, project recovery, and transferring project management responsibility. The centerpiece of the course is a dynamic project management simulation, which integrates and applies these project management topics. IPM 301 builds on basic project management education that newcomers to acquisition receive in the AF Fundamentals of Acquisition Management (AFFAM) course. IPM 301 is required per Acquisition Manager Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP). Additionally, the Air Force Defense Acquisition Career Manager (DACM) has deemed IPM 301 a fulfillment of the APDP Level II Program Manager requirement for DAU’s PMT 250/251/252/256/257 courses. Target audience (eligible for SAF/AQH funded quotas): 1st Lt - Maj (AFSC 63AX Acquisition Managers) and GS 11 - GS 13 (Occupational Series 1101) acquisition program managers. Other personnel on acquisition-coded positions may request to attend the course on a unit-funded basis if space is available. HOW TO REGISTER: Log on to https://www.atrrs.army.mil/channels/af itnow/
