Description:
***PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED THE UPDATED VERSION OF SYS 183 (A/O 7 APR 11) TO AVOID APPLICATION DISAPPROVAL.*** SYS 283 introduces the student to architectures and the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF). We cover the purpose and goals of architecture from high-level enterprise architectures such as the Federal Government down to detailed solution architectures such as an individual weapon/information system. We explain the structure and content of the DoDAF architecture tools Federal Government, Department of Defense and Air Force enterprise architectures net centricity and architecture and architecture evaluation. The course employs lectures, examples, discussions and short exercises to illustrate architecture products and processes. Due to the rapidly evolution of architecture practices, policies and mandates we believe that students who took SYS 283 over two years ago consider re-taking the course to refresh their knowledge on current requirements. ***Effective 1 Oct 2011, The new version of SYS 183 (updated 7 Apr 11) will be a prerequisite for this course. If you completed SYS 183 prior to this date, please reregister for the course*** Completion of the prerequisite course within 120 days of attending SYS 283 is highly suggested.

Recommended for all ranks and grades, military or civilian, who may find themselves working in requirements, acquisition, communication, or strategic planning. The course is introductory in nature, so it is optimal for architecting novices
