Establishment of new Acquisition Center of Excellence at AFIT
In April the Scientific Test and Analysis Techniques in Test & Evaluation Center of Excellence (STAT T&E COE) was established at the Air Force Institute of Technology Graduate School of Engineering and Management by the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Developmental Test and Evaluation, Commander, Air Training and Education Command, and Director, Air Force Test and Evaluation.

AFIT alum Dr. Charles H. Showell (M.S. Logistics Management, 1971) joins Wright-Patt Credit Union as an Associate Director. Dr. Showell is currently the Dean of the College of Business and Industry at Central State University.

Central Florida Chapter of the Air Force Association recognizes AFIT
The Central Florida Chapter of the Air Force Association recognized the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) for their pioneering work in the field of Precision Navigation at the chapter’s Air Force Gala banquet in Orlando, Florida on February 24th. The AFIT was designated a Jimmy Doolittle Educational Fellow in the Air Force Association. Dr. John Raquet Director of AFIT’s Advanced Navigation Technology Center accepted the award.
