Michael S. Low is a Course Director and Instructor at the Air Force Institute of Technology's School of Systems and Logistics, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. He is an advisor to senior staff on current logistics issues, including the development and evaluation of courses and faculty performance. Additionally, he orchestrates day-to-day operations for the creation, execution, and evaluation of logistics courses for both live and distance learning venues. Moreover, he is a liaison for student/faculty issues, including academic advising, curriculum development, budgeting and grading.
Mr. Low enlisted in the United States Air Force in May 1989 as an Avionics Guidance and Control Systems technician. He spent his enlisted career at various overseas locations repairing C-130, C-141, C-5 and C-17 aircraft and supported numerous operations including FIERY VIGIL, PROVIDE PROMISE, PROVIDE HOPE and PHOENIX SCORPION. In December 2004, he was commissioned as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer through Officer Training School, Maxwell AFB, Alabama. As an officer, he served in numerous positions including Aircraft Maintenance Unit Officer-in-Charge, Squadron Maintenance Operations Officer, and two MAJCOM level staff positions within Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) and Air Combat Command (ACC). Additionally, he deployed in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM. Mr. Low retired from active duty in 2018 after 29 years of service.
