Capt Jeremy K. Collins is an Instructor of Acquisition Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He provides initial skills education for Force Modernization Airmen in the USAF and USSF. He develops and delivers lessons, exercises, and assessments over the entire DoD acquisition system life cycle for 600 students each year. He also guides, advises, and provides research and support to senior level officials within the DoD, Secretary of the Air Force, and AFMC Headquarters.
Capt Collins enlisted in May 2010 and served five years in the Michigan Air National Guard. During his enlisted time, Capt Collins served two years as a traditional guardsman in Aerospace Ground Equipment supporting the 127th Maintenance Group. He then spent three years in an Active Guard Reserve capacity as an Accounting Technician with the 127th Comptroller Flight.
Upon commissioning in 2015, Capt Collins served briefly as a Combat Systems Officer trainee before transitioning to become an acquisitions program manager. While assigned at Wright-Patterson AFB, Capt Collins supported two ejection seat programs and served as the executive officer for the Human Systems Division. He then shifted to the KC-46 Program Office where he led the nuclear certification effort as a Test Program Manager. In 2019, Capt Collins relocated to Tyndall AFB, FL where he supported Air Combat Command’s Weapon System Evaluation Program. As Flight Commander of the Operations Support Section, he supporting air-to-air weapons test known as COMBAT ARCHER for nearly three years. Capt Collins then served as Director of Operations for the 53d Test Support Squadron, responsible for the management of 53 squadron personnel across three flights. In 2023, Capt Collins was selected to teach Fundamentals of Acquisition Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright Patterson AFB, OH.
