Mr. Dana G. Allen is the Associate Dean of the School of Systems and Logistics at the Air Force Institute of Technology, WPAFB, OH. He manages 123 faculty and staff in four Departments of Business Operations and Management, Systems Acquisition Management, Logistics Management, & Systems and Software Management.
Previously he was the Chief Engineer of the Special Programs Division at the Architecture and Integration Directorate and the Chief of the Acquisition Environmental Integration Branch, Acquisition and Industrial Facilities Division at Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, WPAFB, OH. Prior to re-joining the Air Force, he worked for NAVAIR in the F-35 Joint Program office in Crystal City, VA, where he was the Deputy Lead of the Air Vehicle IPT and the Lead Airframe Engineer.
Mr Allen earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering at United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Science in Aeronautical Engineering at AFIT. He served as an active duty Aero Engineer and Program Manager with assignments at Warner-Robins ALC, Air Force Research Lab Propulsion Directorate, and AFSOC’s 18th Flight Test Squadron. He was also an Assistant Professor of Mathematical Sciences at the Air Force Academy, an intelligence officer at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Division Chief and Director of Operations at AFOTEC Det 3, and Commander of Det 2, Launch and Range SPO, Space and Missile Systems Center. After retirement he led the US Army’s acquisition and fielding of head protection systems (i.e. helmets).
