Lt Col Ryan Hoff, PhD

Lt. Col. Ryan Hoff, PhD is a Senior instructor and the Force Development Manager Action Officer for the Civil Engineer Career Field at The Civil Engineer School (TCES) at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He assists with instruction of over 50 courses and seminars and the execution of Initial Skills training for all Total Force Civil Engineer officers. Additionally, he manages force development requirements for the Civil Engineer officer career field, envisioning the skills required to meet the demands of tomorrow’s Air Force and translating that to training and education requirements.

Lt Col. Hoff entered the Air Force in May 2010 through AFROTC from Arizona State University. He completed civil engineer officer training in December 2010 and has held various Civil Engineering positions at Mountain Home AFB, Wright-Patterson AFB, JB Charleston, and Davis-Monthan AFB. Throughout his career, he has been a project engineer, SABER Chief, Operations Engineering Chief, Lead Engineer for Exercise NEW HORIZONS, Deployed Operations Flight Commander, full-time student and an executive officer for both Wing and NAF commanders.

Lt Col Hoff is married with two children. Prior to his current position, he was the Commander, 39th Civil Engineer Squadron, Incirlik AB, Turkiye.
