COURSE:  WMSS 632 OSHA-authorized 30-Hour Construction Safety Seminar

OBJECTIVE:  The objective of this course is to prepare civil engineers by providing safety training tools and resources for performing construction and construction inspection activities.

Note: Course Registration Closes 2-weeks prior to the Offering Start Date.

DESCRIPTION:  The OSHA Outreach Training Program for the Construction Industry provides training for workers and employers on the recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in the construction industry. The program also provides information regarding workers' rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. Through this program, workers can attend the 30-hour course offered by the Air Force Institute of Technology, Civil Engineer School, delivered by OSHA-authorized trainers. The class is most appropriate for supervisors or workers with some safety responsibility (see Primary Audience and Secondary Audience). Through this training, OSHA helps to ensure that workers are more knowledgeable about workplace hazards and their rights, and contribute to our nation's productivity. After successful completion of this course students will receive a course completion certificate and an OSHA 30-hr training card.

Important: STUDENTS MUST ATTEND ALL LESSONS TO RECEIVE OSHA 30-HR CARD!

Note: The 18-29 Sep 17 offering at Wright-Patterson AFB will meet from 0800-1100L each day, and is intended for AFIT/GEM students and 88 CEG personnel. Please contact the Course Director if you're not from Wright-Patterson AFB and would like to attend this offering at your unit's expense.

PRIMARY AUDIENCE:  Operations and Engineering Flight personnel, CGOs, Civilian PMs, Contractors employed by & directly supporting Civil Engineer units

SECONDARY AUDIENCE:  Skill levels of 3 or 1, E1-E4, FGOs, and other Civil Engineer Squadron Flights

GRADE:   Recommended grade requirement of E5 – O3 or skill level of 5 or above, or civilian grade (GS or WG)equivalent

PREREQUISITES:  None

DELIVERY METHOD:  On-site. Materials distributed by AFIT Blackboard. Students will be required to pass a 30 question, comprehensive exam, with a score of no less than 70%.
