Course Director

Tony Jones is the Course Director for the Air Force Fundamentals of Acquisition Management (FAM) 104 course.  FAM 104 is the initial skills training course for 61C/61D/62E/63A acquisition officers.  FAM 104 is taught to 400-600 students a year.  The class covers fundamental project management skills and a breadth of acquisition areas such as:  Defense Acquisition System (DAS), Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS), Planning/Programming/Budgeting/Execution (PPBE), Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Product Support, etc.

Tony served in the Air Force for 20 years as an acquisition officer in both program management (63) and engineering (62) positions.  He worked in the following jobs: Integrated-Computer Aided Software Engineering (I-CASE) program office, Combat Ammunitions System (CAS) program office, Milstar satellite engineering, Theater Medical Information Program (TMIP) program office, Systems Engineering for SMC for range launch, Deliberate and Crisis Action Planning and Execution Segments (DCAPES) program office, and Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) instructor.  After retiring, Tony worked in the F-16 Program office as Senior Acquisition advisor for Morocco FMS sales before being hired back to AFIT to teach FAM.
