Faculty & Alumni Win AF STEM Awards

Two AFIT faculty members and 4 alumni were winners in the 2016 Air Force Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Awards program.  This Air Force-level recognition is especially noteworthy, considering the high level of competition for these awards.

Air Force Outstanding Science and Engineering Educator Award

  • Dr. Raymond R. Hill, Jr., Professor of Operations Research  - AETC/AFIT (also an AFIT alum:  M.S. Operations Research, 1988)

John L. McLucas Basic Research Award

Air Force Outstanding Scientist/Engineer Awards:

  • 1Lt Michael J. Ausserer - NASIC (M.S. Aeronautical Engineering, 2012)

Dr. Paul G. Kaminski Most Promising Systems Engineer of the Year Award

  • Capt John A. Priestly, III - AFRCO (M.S. Electrical Engineering, 2011)

Air Force Research and Development Award

  • Lt Col Chris Wellbaum - AFRCO (M.S. Systems Engineering, 2010)
