Alum elected Vice Chair of American Board of Industrial Hygiene®

AFIT alum and former faculty member, Dr. Dirk Yamamoto (PhD Systems Engineering, 2010) was elected the Vice Chair of the ABIH® Board of Directors during its annual Fall meeting.

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene® (ABIH®) administers the internationally recognized Certified Industrial Hygienist® (CIH®) program.

"Elected as ABIH’s Vice Chair for 2017-2018 is Dirk Yamamoto, PhD, CIH, CSP, PE. He is a retired U.S. Air Force officer with an extensive background in industrial hygiene, environmental health, environmental protection and radiation safety. While on active duty, he last served as the director and assistant professor for the ABET-accredited Industrial Hygiene Master’s program at the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Following his retirement, he began working for STS Systems Integration (SSI), LLC, providing occupational and environmental health consultation support to USAF. He is now a federal employee and is currently the Senior Industrial Hygienist, Force Health Protection Research at the US Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base."
