Atmospheric sciences with special emphasis on radiative transfer effects associated with remote sensing and directed energy applications; as well as microphysical and optical properties of atmospheric aerosols and the interdependencies of aerosol and atmospheric optical turbulence processes. Field research, ambient aerosol characterization equipment for in-situ measurements of nano-class, ultra-fine aerosols, or via remote sensing using techniques including LIDAR and sun/lunar polarimetric photometry.
