Our department is focused on basic science and applied technologies for the Department of Defense. We offer courses, degrees, and research in applied physical sciences and nuclear engineering. Our graduate programs emphasize practical research and its transition into operations within the USAF, DoD, and other government agencies.
We are currently seeking talented military and civilian students to join the department. As you browse our website and become acquainted with our degree programs, faculty, and research, we hope that you will consider visiting us. There are fully funded research assistantships for non-military affiliated U.S. citizens to study at AFIT. Post Doctoral Research Assistantships are also available for highly qualified individuals desiring to support DoD STEM. To explore these opportunities, please send unofficial copies of your transcripts, GRE scores, and a summary of your research interests to Maj Kenneth Burgi.
