Mr. Charles S Cooper., is an Electronic Lab Technician/ RF Equipment custodian for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. His duties include, but are not limited to support of Radar/Communication, Cyber Defense, Computer Communication Networks, Low Observables, Microwave materials, Guidance and Navigation systems. Mr. Cooper has a combined 24 years of Military and Defense contracting experience.
He retired for the United States Army after 23 years of service. He served as the Non Commission Officer in charge of ensuring mission readiness and combat power of over 1000 pieces of pacing items assigned to the 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, New York. Mr. Cooper possessed vast knowledge in Department of the Army (DA) and Department of Defense (DoD) policies and procedures due to 4 years working as an Assistant Inspector General (IG) for the 7th Army Training Command in Germany. Mr. Cooper held several leadership position during his military career
Prior to joining the AFIT team in April 2023, he worked as a DoD Contractor for Jacobs Engineering Group Based in Beavercreek Ohio. Mr. Cooper served as a lead Test Technician for various RF designs for future Space application. He also worked as a RF Technical writer responsible for drafting test plans and procedures that was instrumental to the organization Design and fabrication process. He also served as DoD contractor in support of NASIC and Foreign Material Exploitation (FME)
