Dr. Michael A. Saville is currently Professor of Electrical Engineering, Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.  He was previously Associate Professor and Chair of Electrical Engineering at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.  He earned the B.S.E.E. degree with honors (Magna Cum Laude, Undergraduate University Honor's Fellow) from Texas A&M University and was commissioned as Second Lieutenant under the Airman Education Commissioning Program.  He earned the M.S.E.E. degree from the Air Force Institute of Technology, Ohio in 2000 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2006.  His military assignments included engineering and leadership positions in operational electronic warfare, acquisitions and ultimately Assistant Professor and Deputy Head, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Air Force Institute of Technology, Ohio.  From July 2011 until Nov. 2012, he worked at the Sensors Directorate, Air Force Research Lab, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio as Senior Research Electronics Engineer. There, he led and conducted scientific investigation of radar-based sensor technologies in direct support of emerging radar systems and national intelligence agencies.  His current research interests are in hybrid applications of signal processing, electromagnetics and computational methods for feature extraction in synthetic aperture radar.  Dr. Saville has over 60 technical publications, is a Senior Member of IEEE, a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio, and an ABET Program Evaluator.  He is also a member of the national honor societies of Eta Kappa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, Sigma Xi, and a life member of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers.
