Colonel Troy D. Koepnick is the Dean of the School of Systems and Logistics, one of four schools that make up the Air Force Institute of Technology, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. He is responsible for developing and providing defense-focused professional continuing education, research and consulting services in order to sustain America's air and space forces technological supremacy. To this end, the school provides more than 120 resident, on-site, and both synchronous and asynchronous distance learning professional continuing education courses in acquisition management, logistics, contracting, systems management, software engineering and financial management. Approximately 18 thousand DoD personnel in 50 worldwide locations attend Systems and Logistics courses each year.

Colonel Troy D. Koepnick previously commanded the 87th Mission Support Group, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. As commander, he led a team of more than 3,100 personnel and was responsible for $9.3 billion in physical assets including 4,000 facilities and 42,000 acres supporting 88 Air Force and DoD units. He has held a variety of Logistics Plans and Logistics Readiness assignments at Wing, Center, Joint and Air Staff levels in addition to commanding two Logistics Readiness Squadrons and serving as executive officer and aide-de-camp to multiple General Officers. Col Koepnick also served as the Chief of the Air Force Installation and Mission Support Center’s Readiness Division where he developed and managed Air Force enterprise-wide assessments for readiness capabilities, readiness risk assessments, Forces Support Readiness, and Contingency Operations Management while serving as the principal advisor to Headquarters Air Force and each MAJCOM commander on all I&MS deployment related functional areas.
