Capt Carlos Horner

Capt Horner is is assigned to the Air Force Institute of Technology in the Department of Systems and Software Engineering Management. He is currently a Course Director in Systems Engineering & Cybersecurity. Specifically he supports the Air Force Research Laboratory with their primary Science & Technology Management course, LAB202, for their 4000+ Engineering workforce. Capt Horner’s previous assigment as the Special Operations Forces Weapons Engineer at the Armament Sustainment Division, Armament Directorate, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Robins Air Force Base, Warner Robins, GA.  Capt Horner provided support for 820+ guns valued at $102M on 14 weapon systems.  He provided guidance and supports 30+ Air Force wings and deployed forces to include AC-130, HH-60, UH-1, and CV-22 fleets.  He also directed the testing and evaluation of 7500+ medium caliber aircraft guns and their components to ensure safety, reliability, and maintainability  enhancements.

Capt Horner was born July 02, 1989 on Hospital Santo Tomas, Panama City, Panama and graduated from Russell County High School, Seale, AL in 2007.  He graduated with honors from Auburn University with a BS in Chemical Engineering with a full academic scholarship. He earned his commission in  Dec 2011 with a full AFROTC scholarship.  He graduated with honors from Georgia College & State University with a Master in Business Administration.
