2013-2016: Assistant Professor, Department of Safety Sciences, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Taught graduate and undergraduate curriculum, developed courses, advised doctoral research, conducted research and scholarly activity in support of the Department mission, served on department, college, and university committees.
2011-2013: Flight Commander, Bioenvironmental Engineering (BE), 72d Aerospace Medicine Squadron, Led the largest BE Flight mission in the US Air Force (44 civilian and military) at the largest Air Logistics Complex. Responsible for Environment, Health, and Safety aspects of over 27,000 workers producing depot-level aircraft, engine, and commodities maintenance 24/7/365.
2010-2011: Chief, Technical Services Branch, USAF School of Aerospace Medicine (USAFSAM), Led 43-person branch of AF-level services including AF OE Analytical Laboratory. Executed 7 unique AF programs. Managed OE department staff (213 military, civilian, and contractors). Oversaw mission operations for 3 branches, $3.3M budget, and $20M blanket purchase agreement.
2006-2010: Assistant Professor of Industrial Hygiene, Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Successfully established the graduate industrial hygiene program as program director, developer, curriculum committee chair, and first professor. Taught graduate courses in industrial hygiene and environmental engineering. Advised thesis research in these areas. Participated in collaborative research investigating nanotechnology health and safety, engineering noise control, aerosol technology, and occupational/environmental exposure assessment.
2 June 1993 – 31 October 2013: U.S. Air Force Bioenvironmental Engineer officer, conducted industrial hygiene and environmental management activities at Air Force installations worldwide. Base-level BE experience overseas and CONUS for 5 years. Managed environmental permits and performed sampling and analysis in support of the following environmental engineering programs: hazardous waste, air quality, wastewater, NPDES, EPCRA, sustainable development, RCRA, asbestos, lead-based paint. Managed and executed industrial hygiene programs for up to 7,000 workers. Senior industrial hygiene consultant for noise and vibration, indoor air quality, and AFMC/USAFE at the AF Institute for Environment, Safety, and Occupational Health Risk Analysis (AFIERA). Also industrial hygiene branch chief at the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine responsible for all industrial hygiene instruction of BE officers and enlisted, as well as new flight surgeons and public health officers. Instructing duties included environmental quality and readiness lessons.
