Mr Thomas Ventriglia is a contracted Course Manager and Instructor for the Department of Nuclear Studies at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico.  He is Course Manager for the “The Air Force Nuclear Concepts and Insights Course”, (Nuclear 250) and instructor for its classified counterpart, Nuclear 252.

Previously, Mr. Ventriglia served on Active Duty in the Air Force for 33 years, concluding his distinguished career as the Director of Inspections for the Air Force Inspector General. Starting as an AWACS support officer, he became a senior SAC/PACAF command post controller coordinating operations for SAC, AFSOC, PACAF and the Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Okinawa.  Thereafter, he served as an AGM-130 program manager, taught ROTC at the University of Portland, and commanded the 39th MXS in Incirlik AB, Turkey and the 363rd TRS at Sheppard AFB, Texas. He then oversaw Nuclear Surety Inspections as Director of the AFIA Inspections and Oversight Directorate and commanded the 498th MUMG and the 377th MXG. Next, he was Chief of HQ USAFE’s Nuclear Operations Division and then DTRA’s Chief of the Nuclear Logistics Department where he oversaw the status of nuclear weapons in the DoD arsenal just ahead of his IG assignment.

Prior to his military career, Mr. Ventriglia worked for the Oregon State Police in college and received his commission through AFROTC at Oregon State University in 1987.
