Master Sergeant Todd "Jake" Wireman is the First Sergeant for the Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. As the First Sergeant, he advises the Commander on all matters concerning the health, morale, welfare, professional development and readiness of assigned military and civilian personnel. He also provides guidance and leadership to those personnel with an emphasis on core values, mentorship, counseling, customs & courtesies, and dress & appearance. His duties include providing professional guidance and monitoring administrative actions, performance reports, awards, decorations, promotions, and professional military education. 

MSgt Wireman originates from Cridersville, Ohio. In May 2007 he entered active duty as a Command Post Emergency Actions Controller. After completion of technical training in August 2007, he was stationed at Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma and assigned to the 97th Air Mobility Wing Command Post. In 2012, he was selected to be a member of a unique cadre team that initialized a new special duty within the Command Post career field for the 1st Helicopter Squadron. During his tenure he became the first certified aerial flyover controller and conducted numerous UH-1N funeral and ceremonial flyovers throughout the National Capital Region. MSgt Wireman has over 15 years of military service time. He has deployed in support of Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM. His background includes numerous Command and Control leadership positions supporting multiple aircraft and weapon systems including C-17, KC-135, KC-10, U-2, RQ-4, Airborne Warning and Control Systems, National Airborne Operations Center, and UH-1N. He has also served as a member of several Department of Defense National Contingency teams. Prior to his current position, Wireman was the Manager, Command and Control Operations for Air Force Material Command.
