Capt Kevin Patterson
Capt. Kevin Patterson serves as an instructor for the School of Strategic Force Studies, Air Force Institute of Technology, Wright-Patterson AFB Ohio. He delivers continuing education through Cyber 200 curriculum development, scheduling, and instruction of U.S. Air Force cyberspace operations principles and processes.
Captain Patterson entered the Air Force in May 2019 through direct commission out of the United States Air Force Academy. He attended the Undergraduate Cyber Training class located at Keesler AFB, Mississippi and graduated as a Cyberspace Effects Operations Officer, Defensive Cyberspace Operations specialization in May 2020. Captain Patterson has experience in defensive cyberspace positions to include officer in charge of a network threat hunting team and cloud security operator securing NIPR and SIPR networks. He then completed a master’s degree in computer science with specialization in software engineering before moving to NASIC where he led a vulnerability analysis team as part of the Department of the Air Force’s sole squadron conducting foreign matériel exploitation of air and space systems.
Prior to his current position, Capt. Patterson was a Flight Commander for the Threat Software Analysis Flight, Foreign Materiel Exploitation Squadron, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.
