MikeE. Miller, Professor of Systems Engineering
Prior to joining AFIT, I had the pleasure of holding many roles including Human Factors Engineer, Senior Research Scientist and Systems Engineering Lead at Eastman Kodak Company between 1994 and 2010. During this time, I participated in development of the first graphical user interfaces for digital cameras, led a group developing digital image processing features, and helped to pioneer the development of RGBW OLED, which LG Electronics has commercialized. During this time I experienced the success and tribulations of developing novel technologies and transitioning them to product development. Prior to joining Eastman Kodak Company, I was employed by International Business Machines where I helped to develop display metrology and supported development of the ISO 9241 standard, Parts 3 through 8. During this time, I became conviced that true product innovation begins with understanding the true needs of the user but requires a deep understanding of technology trends, capabilities and limitations. The science of understanding their technology trends and their interasection with true user needs permits us to transform technology into products which delight our customers.
