Colonel Ian M. Slazinik is the Director of the Scientific Test and Analysis Techniques Center of Excellence (STAT COE), the Homeland Security Community of Best Practices (HS COBP) and the Digital Innovation and Integration Center of Excellence (DIICE) at the Air Force Institue of Technolgy (AFIT). In his role, he supports programs across the Joint Force in digital acquisition transformation and application of scientific test and evaluation methods to accelerate capability delivery through innovative solutions and education to equip acquisition leaders with decision-quality information.
Col. Slazinik graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2003. He deployed 7 times in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM and is a graduate of multiple leadership development programs to include Air Mobility Command's Phoenix Mobility Program and the DoD's Executive Leadership Development Program.
Col. Slazinik has vast experience leading multifunctional teams in contingency response, command and control, air refueling operations. His previous roles include KC-135 Instructor Pilot, Contingency Response Element Commander, and commander of the 351st Air Refueling Squadron. He is a senior pilot with over 2,900 flight hours.
