Capt Seth H. Garland, PhD

Capt Seth Garland is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Space Physics in the Department of Engineering Physics (ENP) at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Capt Garland helps develop and teach courses on the space environment - from the Sun to the Earth's ionosphere - as well as space weather forecasting. Furthermore, he performs and publishes cutting-edge research for Department of Defense and Air Force Weather research and development priorities, with a focus on solar magnetic field modeling and solar flare prediction.  Capt Garland also serves an advisor and committee member for student thesis research supporting Air Force Weather operational requirements. Finally, he is a Branch Chief for ENP, mentoring and guiding military students as they complete their masters degrees.
