Dr. Keefer is a Research Assistant Professor of Atmospheric and Aerosol Sciences within the Department of Engineering Physics (ENP) department of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT). He has over 40 years of experience leading, mentoring, instructing, researching, problem solving, as well as hands-on development assemblage, delivery, and support of fielded materials/software capabilities. This includes 17 years in graduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral academic research positions and 19 years in directed energy, remote sensing and atmospheric aerosols and optical effects research and development, field test/experimentation, and modeling/simulation. Dr. Keefer is a recognized atmospheric instrumentation expert, especially that for micro-meteorological and aerosol optical effects as well as optical turbulence.
