LTC Phillip M. LaCasse, U.S. Army, is assigned to the Department of Operational Sciences as per a Memorandum of Agreement between AFIT and the U.S. Army Functional Area 49 Proponent Office by which FA49 branch provides a faculty assistant professor position in exchange for credit of tuition fees for Army FA49 officers to pursue a graduate degree at AFIT/ENS.

LTC LaCasse holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree in operations research from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a doctoral degree in industrial and manufacturing engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

His military assignments include tank platoon leader, scout platoon leader, tank company executive officer, and company commander with the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment at Fort Riley, KS to include deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF). Additionally, LTC LaCasse served as an instructor and assistant professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, United States Military Academy and as Division Chief, Program Analysis & Evaluation (PA&E) Division for HQ, United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) at Great Lakes, IL.

LTC LaCasse and his wife, Becky, have four children: Benjamin, Emily, Abigail, and Ellie.

M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison

Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
