Dr. Ciarallo is an Associate Professor in the Dept of Operational Sciences at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) in Dayton, Ohio.  Before joining AFIT in 2019, he served on the faculty at the University of Arizona and most recently at Wright State University. He has also served as a visiting Assistant Professor at the University of California - Berkeley in 2001, and as a visiting researcher at the Technical University of Eindhoven (Netherlands) in 2010.  Dr. Ciarallo is the Editor in Chief of the Journal of Defense Analytics and Logistics.  Dr. Ciarallo’s research has appeared in journals such as Management Science, Decision Sciences, IEEE Transactions on Robotics and Automation, IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, European Journal of Operations Research, and Journal of Air Transport Management.  He has been funded by sources such as the National Science Foundation, Ohio Department of Transportation, Air Force Material Command and Cardinal Health.  Dr. Ciarallo received the 2023 Dean’s Distinguished Teaching Award at AFIT, 2013 Faculty Award for Excellence in Service, College of Engineering Wright State University; 2012 Moving Spirit Award, Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and 2000 Award for Distinguished Service, Manufacturing & Services Operations Management Society of INFORMS.
