Dr. Bruce A. Cox is an Assistant Professor of Operations Research at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Dr. Cox achieved his commission to the United States Air Force through the Reserve Officer Training Corp program. In 1999, he was assigned to the Space and Missile Systems Center Detachment 11, as a Program Manager where he led various Space Lift Range modernization programs. In 2002, he was transferred to the Defense Logistics Agency Office of Operations Research and Resource Analysis (DORRA) where he was lead analyst on a project to reduce shipping times and increase the reliability, track-ability and predictability of CONUS-OCONUS shipments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2006, he was selected to attend the Air Force Institute of Technology's Civilian Institution program, through which he received his doctorate in industrial Engineering. After several more assignments and a brief tour in Kandahar Afghanistan, Dr. Cox was transferred to the Air Force Institute of Technology, Department of Operational Sciences.
