Five AFIT Alumni Win AFMC Awards

AFMC winners

Recently the Air Force Materiel Command recognized 26 AFMC Science, Engineering and Technical Management award winners for their accomplishments in 2008. Award recipients included five AFIT alumni.

The awards recognized the superior performances of Air Force officers, enlisted members, civilians, and teams who are dedicated to the support of the Air Force through their expertise in science, engineering and technical management. The winners annotated with an asterisk will go on to compete at the Air Force Level.

The five AFIT alumni 2009 AFMC Science, Engineering and Technical Management winners and their respective award categories are:

  • Mid-Career Military Engineer, Capt. Jason V. Paul (MS, Electrical Engineering, 2007), Munitions Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Eglin AFB, FL *
  • Junior Civilian Engineer, Luis M. Diaz Rodriguez (MS, Systems Engineering, 2005), 516th Aeronautical Systems Wing, Aeronautical Systems Center, Wright-Patterson AFB *
  • Mid-Career Military Scientist, Capt. Nathan B. Terry (PhD, Applied Physics, 2007), Sensors Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson AFB *
  • Science and Engineering Educator, Lt Col Adam MacDonald (PhD, Electrical Engineering, 2006 and MS, Electrical Engineering, 1999), Test Pilot School Air Force Flight Test Center, Edwards AFB CA *
  • Reservist/IMA, Maj. James C. Savage (MS, Electrical Engineering, 1996), Munitions Directorate, Air Force Research Laboratory, Eglin AFB FL
