On 2 October 2014, AFIT, in conjunction with the AFIT Foundation, paid special tribute to three new Distinguished Alumni Award Winners – each of whom have made exceptional contributions to our nation.
AFIT selected its first distinguished alumni in 1979. At that time, Col Frank Borman, Col George Holloman, Gen Jimmy Doolittle, and Gen Bernard Schriever were awarded this prestigious honor. Since that date, 30 others individuals have been selected.
The title of “distinguished alumni” is the highest honor that AFIT can bestow upon a graduate and we award very few. The men we honored this year are truly among AFIT’s finest.
